Founded in the 13th century, "Stanesdorp" is an up-and-coming small town with around 15,000 inhabitants in the district of Potsdam-Mittelmark. Thanks to its proximity to the metropolis of Berlin and the state capital of Potsdam on the one hand and the Parforceheide nature reserve on the other, Stahnsdorf offers both very good infrastructural connections and living close to nature. Stahnsdorf is becoming increasingly attractive, particularly as an alternative to Kleinmachnow. The wooded and lake-rich surroundings are ideal for long walks and other leisure activities. There are numerous supermarkets and many shops for daily needs as well as kindergartens, schools and medical facilities in the town centre. Secondary schools are also within easy reach in neighbouring Teltow and Kleinmachnow (BBIS Berlin Brandenburg International School; Weinberg-Gymnasium). The motorway connection to the A115 takes you to the city centre of Berlin-West in approx. 20 minutes and to the centre of Potsdam in approx. 15 minutes via Nuthestrasse. Various bus routes run to the Berlin-Zehlendorf S-Bahn station, Wannsee long-distance railway station and Potsdam main station, among others. The Güterfelde district lies to the south of the town centre. By far the most striking building in Güterfelde is the castle. The Güterfelder Haussee lake with its popular bathing area is a 5-minute walk from here. The popular Buddelflink daycare centre is 300 m away.
