The quiet community of Selk is situated in a very scenic location directly on Selker Noor near the district town of Schleswig and the Schlei. Selk is predominantly characterised by residential development with spacious, quiet plots like this one. Due to its good transport connections and its scenic beauty, the village has developed into a favoured residential area. You can reach Hamburg Airport, for example, within an hour's drive. The municipality of Selk has a kindergarten and schools in neighbouring Busdorf, Schleswig and Fahrdorf are just a few minutes' drive away. The well-known boarding school and all-day grammar school Louisenlund with its international orientation is also just a few kilometres away. Shopping facilities are available in Schleswig as well as in Fahrdorf. The region offers a wide range of sporting activities, from hiking and cycling tours to water sports such as stand-up paddling, canoeing and sailing on the Schlei. The golf course in Güby also invites you to enjoy a swinging round with a view of the Schlei. Historically, Selk was first mentioned in 1412 and the municipal coat of arms shows both a willow, which stands for the Danish word "Selje", and a mill wheel. The mill and a small museum can be reached in less than five minutes on foot. The mill was fed by the Mühlenau, which flows into the Selker Noor.
